CS:S bot commands from CS:CZ gone AWOL
#1
Question
The source bots seem to be missing 2 commands that were really useful for setting up coop games in CS:CZ.

bot_quota_match
bot_join_team (still exists) &
human_join_team

These were really useful for setting up a good coop game. The bot_quota_match enabled you to set a ratio of bots:humans which would adjust whenever a new player entered or left the game.

the *_join_team commands would force the bots to be on one side and humans on the other. Great for coop games especially if you like the odds stacked against you!!!!

Steam! Steam! Where are these commands now when I want them......??????? I thought I read that the all the previous commands from CZ would be ported to Source?

Mebbe am I missing something but it strikes me that this is only possible now by manually typing stuff into the server console....

Any thoughts anyone?

Well i have no problem with it, but the syntax is changed..

bot_join_after_player: 0/1
Bots wait for a human to join before joining. Set to 0 to allow bots to play without humans.

bot_join_team: any / CT / T
Add bot(s) to a specific team.

bot_add
Adds a bot to whichever team has fewer players

bot_add_ct
Adds a Counter-Terrorist bot

bot_add_t
Adds a Terrorist bot

bot_quota
Set to # of bots allowed on server

bot_quota_mode normal / fill
Determines the type of quota. Allowed values: 'normal' and 'fill'. If 'fill', the server will adjust bots to keep N players in the game, where N is bot_quota.

bot_auto_vacate
If nonzero, bots will automatically leave to make room for human players.

Olleper,

Thanks for your reply but I've seen these commands and I don't think they are equivalent to the ones I cited.
For example; a 'bot_quota_match 2' will automatically add 2 bots for every human. The other commands are just to ensure that players are always on one team, and bots on the other. However, I could be wrong. Can you give me the commands that you think will achieve this from the list posted on the TurtleRock forum... I can't do it.
The commands allow me to do it manually using the console but this is not nearly as good as having a cfg script do it automatically for me!
