Hi Guys,
Im REALLY going round in circles here, setting up a dedicated server for HL2DM, something ive done many times in the past (5+ years ago), but struggling like hell now Sad

Ive setup a virtual machine and am currently trying Ubuntu and Windows, from several locations, both home and at work, but the same errors.

Quote:adam@ubuntu:~/Desktop/linux$ ./steam
Checking bootstrapper version ...
Getting version 51 of Steam HLDS Update Tool
No Steam Content Servers available, please try again later

Ive been trying for 3 weeks now, but still getting the same errors.
Ive tried using admin/sudo commands, moving the folder locations, disabling firewalls, forwarding the ports, but to no avail.
Would anyone have any suggestions?
Both virtual machines can access the internet fine and browse the network, so really not sure what the problem is.

Its a shame I just cant download the entire folder structure from somewhere....

The problem you are experiencing is due to the fact that the hldsupdatetool no longer exists. If i remember correctly, when Valve released CS:GO they released a new server tool at the same time called SteamCMD.

here is a guide on how to use SteamCMD: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD

and here is the Appid you will need for the hl2dm server files: 232370
