srcs cpu and serverload = lagg
Have recently purchased a 2.8 2GB 80GB (fedora core 4) dedicated server to run a css source server.

I was planning to have a 28 slot 66 tic public and a 12 man 66 tic match server and hlstatsx runnin gon the box.

We we are having problems as running just 1 server (28 man 66 tic), we get loads of lagg, esp. at the start of a round each time the server get around 20-22 players on it.

serve.cfg i as follows:-

fps_max 300

sv_maxupdaterate 120
sv_minupdaterate 25
sv_maxrate 20000
sv_minrate 1000

is there a limit to how many players can joina 66 tic server, should this server be able to support what i am tryng to run on it ?


What is your upload connection speed?
I really dont think the server is the problem, I gues its becouse of your internet connection.

its from its got a 100mbits connection ?
What mods? Try running the server without any mods.....

remove "fps_max 300" from your server.cfg it belongs in the command line like "./srcds_run -game cstrike +map de_dust +maxplayers 12 +fps_max 600

also what is the kernel version
fps_max belongs in the server.cfg Toungue

Probably a bug in the OS kernel, can you have W2K3 installed on that box?

And stil "fps_max" belongs in the server.cfg Toungue
