Srcds not able to update/start server
Ive been hosting SRCDS games for a while now, and im not sure what happened with this recent update, but ive taken off all my addons, re installed the servers completely, and ive tried various methods for fixing it that ive found online. None of this seems to work so far, and when I did get the updater to work, its noticeably slower than before.
Thanks in advance,

Looks like the 7/2 update has a bad file - see here
What? no. We cannot update the server. we type in ./steam -command update -game "tf" -dir . then it says "updating installation" and sits all night and all day until.. well it's still stuck now.
I think that I may have found a fix, first of all I set my clock to bypass the benchmark that the new srcds does, by using this command:
export RDTSC_FREQUENCY='2659.000000'
After that, I used these two files:
I put these files in orangebox/bin
So far so good, let me know how this works for you

nope didn't work Sad
Damn, sorry man, Its been working fine for me since i did that, try putting that command in the .sh to start the server, and remove -autoupdate from it, right now mine looks like this:
./*****/orangebox/srcds_run -console -game garrysmod +maxplayers 26 +hostport 27016 +map rp_downtown_v2

This is for a customers server, so the stars are just his name

After starting server
"Your server needs to be restarted in order to receive the latest update."

After trying to connect to server
"The connection failed after 4 retries."

Now I think of it, I have just changed ISP. maybe they are blocking it. Anyone know of a way to get around that? alternative server maybe?
Try readding -autoupdate?

./steam -command update -game tf -dir . -verify_all
Just found this, thought it might help.

EDIT: oh I just tried it again and it's working now wtf
