How to compile a xen kernel?
#1
Hi all, im trying to compile a new kernel for centos 5.6 but with no luck. It doesn't boot. The server boots and then turns off. So i guess i missed something or i don't know. I did exactly what it said in http://knowledgebaselinux.blogspot.com/2011/02/xen-compile-paravirt-ops-domu-kernel.html. Thanks for any help.
Using vps xen

I don't think you can change the kernel of a VPS. Atleast i can't change it. I've tried both Cloud, Xen and "regular" vps's.

I don't get it . Everyone says if it pygrub is enabled then I can compile and load mine own kernel . For me it doesn't work.

ask your provider, it could be related to his specific setup.

what do you expect to achieve anyway? you cannot really improve the VMs performance for game servers by changing the kernel same way it works for real machines.
