HUGE fps drops
Hi, I'm running debian linux with 7 cs:s 12slot 100tick servers on i7 920, 3x2gb ram, 100mbps line, but recently servers fps begone to drop every ~3sec from 1000 to 20 or lower, that causes lags, ping and choke, cpu usage is lower than 50%. I tryied three diferrent kernels, but still no joy. FPS drops are even on empty server. I hope someone will help me Sad,view%3b39063.html

what kernels did you try? maybe try the one described in the link in my signature... including all other stuff written there! (Linux Kernel HOWTO!)

I reinstalled linux and now everything seems OK! BUT above 16players, server tick is only 60~90 (netgraph) and choke ~18 at round start while server fps remains 1000. Who can be cause of this? Sad CPU usage 30% with 20players.
for a 16-slot server, drop the TIC lower.

tick100 should be fine with many more slots on an i7... I guess the netsettings are incorrect... maybe this will help: (Linux Kernel HOWTO!)

My rates are:
sv_maxupdaterate 120
sv_minupdaterate 20
sv_maxrate 25000
sv_minrate 2000

Now choke is 10 at round start, at the middle of round i have no choke, sometimes 0~2 on war servers (10players), but it's not a big deal. I will survive! Big Grin Tahnks for help.
EDIT: I noticed that zBlock causes fps drops of 50fps and choke(0-2). How this could happen? O_o
sv_maxrate 25000 might be a little low, try 35000
sv_maxupdaterate 120 doesn't make sense on tick 100, 101 or 105 would be enough. but it shouldn't hurt. (Linux Kernel HOWTO!)
