Site facelift

I hope SirTiger agrees with me when i say this, The main site needs to be redesigned

I am discussing with a friend of mine about a design for srcds.com and since its for the community, i think its best i hear what YOU would like to see on the site. Tell us what you wanna see, what catagories you want on the site, give design ideas like website examples, colors, etc.

I think this should be a community driven thing so i'd like to hear your opinions.

RE: Site facelift

One thing I think is needed. Is tutorials available on the main site. Even there just linked to the forum tutorials, there should be a listing of all available on the main site. hmm... other then that I'm spent. Maybe a links page to popular server plugins and stuff.

RE: Site facelift

Yeah, those were a few that crossed my mind, keep the ideas coming though.
I was almost thinking about an srcds wiki which is pretty much where the tutorials would go, but im not sure yet, SirTiger, what ideas do you have since this IS your site and all.

RE: Site facelift

Well I think it should be a slick and clear/clean website. Use somewhat neutral colors, not agressive reds and stuff like that. Make it look in a way that it pulls people into reading the website.

I do like the wiki idea, it would be easier for people to add to/update/fix current tutorials.

RE: Site facelift

I have some stuff planned for the front page, but due to my perfectionistic nature I have been postponing it for ages. Have like 8 PSDs already lol.

Readability is very important in my eyes and I am sure the new revision can only be an improvement to our current (not informative, outdated) site.

RE: Site facelift

SirTiger, do you have a screenshot of what the PSD's produce? if they're downloaded PSD's from a template site perhaps i can do something from what you like, just so the main site can be you know, unique and not something just downloaded.
